Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to design a website?
There are many factors involved such as how quickly the client supplies content, revisions, approvals, etc. Our goal is to deliver a Basic website within 1 week of receiving the content needed.
Can I change the content of the website myself?
We provide Content Management Software that allows you to edit text and graphics on your own, and we will help you learn how to use it. Just remember that 75% of web surfers say they will pass by websites with numerous typos and grammatical errors.
Do I need to understand web page authoring?
No. We do all the design work for you, and can maintain your site for you if you decide it is more than you have time for. There are some areas that it makes sense to have you update, and others that might be better off with us. It just depends on the site and your comfort level.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We prefer checks from your business since it reduces the fees we have to pay for processing credit cards. We do accept MasterCard, Visa and PayPal.
Are there any additional fees for an Ecommerce site?
Yes. You will need an SSL certificate ($10 and up), and you need a merchant account to process credit cards. Merchant accounts can run from $20 to $30, and that is in addition to the fees you pay for each transaction. We can discuss the options with you.
What is a PCI audit?
Ecommerce sites that accept credit cards are required to pass a PCI (payment card industry) audit to verify a level of security for processing credit cards safely. If we build your Ecommerce site we will walk you through the process and fix any issues that might come up.
What happens after my initial year of hosting?
We will email an invoice for you to pay. You can see the rates on our Options page.
What if we want to be hosted elsewhere at the end of the year?
No problem. We will send you a Zip folder with your website files in it. Once your site has been installed in your new location we can change the name servers to point to that location. You should not experience any significant down time from the move.
